[she puts a tentative hand on Gummy's shoulder, and that's the extent of her hugging back.]
Um, well, no, not really, but... Most people don't notice that sort of thing, I guess! And it'd be a bit of a waste of paper to do it every time something happens, wouldn't it...
Ava approaches the desk, hesitant. She's talked herself out of this at least once a day since she's arrived. Because when you're a captive, you're not supposed to make your needs known, you're not supposed to give leverage.
But the not knowing is worse. "I have a bit of a theoretical question, ma'am."
"Say somebody arrives with a... medical condition. The sort that would progressively get worse, back home," Ava begins, leaning a bit against the desk. "How does that usually go?"
Hm... [cocks head] Usually, there's a sort of... well, a pause on it, I guess? It wouldn't be very fair to make someone have that when other people don't!
"A pause..." Ava repeats, because it sounds almost like good news but she's always wary about being mislead, especially on this particular subject. Especially when the reasoning is somehow fairness. "That implies a start again, doesn't it?" Because she didn't say a stop.
( and she'd fight anyone who said that about anyone else, honestly- but coming from friday, who's murdered on the regular? and by her- her creator? that's awful. )
(she knows this can be a very long shot but she needed to give it a shot, regardless. jinx waits until it's late enough at night where she feels no one she knows will ask where she's going or what she's up to.
but in time, she makes it to the bridge and just... stands there for a moment. her eyes narrowing at the wheel as her lips thin. venti warned her to not trust the captain, to stay away, and blah blah everything else. but who cares? the whole "let's band together" text was just a load of crud, anyway. jinx tried multiple times to play things their way, to be nice, to work along others, but once again -- it'll all get jinxed up.
so as far as she's concerned, everyone on this ship is her enemy... except for fio, of course. jinx starts to consider if approaching the captain with no weaponry on her person is the right decision. but then again, she is only approaching him to ask a simple question and nothing more than that. so surely, this won't go sour, right? the worst that can happen is him not answering and she'll go to friday next.)
(taking a breath, she raises up her hand and simply knocks on the metal door with her knuckles.)
(after waiting for a few more seconds and realizing there's no answer, jinx glares at the door before giving it a big kick jab forward. she knows doing that won't get any results but it's just her way to let out her annoyance of the no reply. she sticks out her tongue with a middle finger before turning on her heel -- leaving. guess it's off to see friday.)
(after sometime, jinx spots friday at the guest services and walks on over to the the desk.)
Theoretically. Right. "That's... surprisingly kind." Which makes her think it's not exactly a kindness at all.
"Then how about something like... aging?" Ava ponders. It'd probably be more noticeable in the children... except, you know, the ones that already don't age. "Is anyone ever around long enough for that to be an issue? Or is that paused too."
(with an eyebrow quirking, she watches her for a moment. that seems to be an odd thing to organize. but maybe she is just that bored standing here all the time so it gave her something to do. jinx shakes her head as she tries not to get distracted.)
Right. So, are you the one that gives out the gifts or is it the Captain?
