"That's very sweet," and not at all as encouraging as she hoped. "But let's say... everyone decided to simply sit down and not play along with the games. Would that be boring?" Because it sounds kinda boring and the sort of thing that would backfire.
But how many times could they get away with that before it lost novelty. "Interesting," Ava agrees. "Thank you, ma'am." And she places a small folded paper crane upon her desk in exchange, made from a torn out page from the copy of Battle Royale that Skulduggery leant her. The edges aren't particularly crisp or neat, but like... she tried.
-- Oh, but that's just silly! [a light laugh] Who's granting it? Wishes don't just come from nowhere! And I don't think there's a whole lot of wish-granters who'd give even a little wish for something like that!
[... no, the Captain would do it, wouldn't he. he'd probably do it for ten if he was in a mood.]
That certainly has her stumped. Where DO wishes come from? The ones from wishing upon a star, or blowing out the candles on a birthday cake. There really is no power behind those things at all.
"It is silly," she agrees, a slight slump to her already slouched shoulders. But it's not going to stop her from making more. "You can keep it, though."
"I've always preferred abstraction. Anyone can duplicate what's already there, already been done. It takes a true genius to fold the pages into something truly new."
She's sure you have plenty of your own, lovely faceless lady. Probably involving not being stuck behind a desk answering dumb questions all day. That sucks.
"That I don't have to worry about the progression of my... affliction. Thank you."

Well, that really depends! Sometimes not playing is playing, so that can be very interesting!
